Maple Lawn Elementary School Modernization

The work consisted of modernization of existing and addition to Maple Lawn Elementary School.  Included both site improvements and building improvements.

 

Site improvements included new asphalt at the hard surface play area and a courtyard between the classroom wings.  The Work at the building was comprised of 25,609 square feet of modernization, 7,656 square feet of additions for new gymnasium space, and 16,038 square feet of new replacement for administration, kitchen, and library.

 

Areas to be modernized included the existing classroom wings and the existing gym, which will be repurposed into a new Multi-Purpose Room, M/E Room, and Music Room.  There was a roof overbuild at the existing classroom wings. 

 

Offsite improvements included new curb, gutter, and sidewalk along Gault St and Wood Ave.  The project also included demo, removal, storage, reshaping, and finishing of existing heavy timbers.  Also included was rehab of existing portable buildings, field irrigation and renovation of field, paving fire access lane, modify existing parking, renovation of mechanical and electrical systems.
